Rosemary Beetle
I’ve been hoping to see one and finally this one was sitting on a lavender plant on site. It was a bit bigger than I expected, at about 8mm.
I was talking to someone and said ‘it’s a lavender beetle that also likes rosemary’. Actually, it’s a rosemary beetle that also likes lavender 🙄It likes other aromatic herbs too. The adults and larvae eat the leaves and flowers, but are not considered a serious pest as they don’t usually do significant damage unless there’s an infestation - this one was on its own. And anyway, look how pretty it is!
This one looks like it’s over-done the pollen!
