Pea and Bean Weevil
This is a better photo of the Bean Weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus) which I learned about last week.
I shook one broad bean plant - not a very big one, no beans or even flowers yet and about 6 beetles dropped out - of various sizes. Yikes, so many on one plant! I shook the rest of the plants in the hope that the weevils are really stupid and can't get back up the stem... Well, as an allotment holder I live in hope...
The trouble is, I have a bit of a thing for weevils, they're just so cute looking.
