Figwort Weevil

At first I wasn't clear what I was looking at covering a very tall figwort weed on our allotment. It looked a bit like bird poop.

There were dozens of these tiny weevils (Cionus scrophulariae) covering the plant.

Quite furry and cute when you see them up close and they'll only damage their host plant so no competition for veg.
