Unidentified Flying Insects

There are so many insects around at the moment. I can't sit still on the allotment or do much gardening! This post is of two flying insects which I haven't been able to identify. I hope at some point I'll be able to add an update...

This blue/black insect was on our runner beans. I wondered whether it may be a wasp - it's kind of wasp-shaped...

 I saw several of these interesting looking flies on a flower bud. I thought they were hoverflies but now I think they may be fruit flies.

The patterned wings and coloured eyes are fabulous! Sorry that these photos aren't quite as focussed as I would have liked.
