Three's a Crowd
In my last post I commented that soldier beetles are generally seen mating - see I told you so! Well, they don't have a very long life and they are also known as Hogweed Bonking Beetle...
There are mating pairs all over the allotment site at the moment. There are also some singletons who are still searching for a mate. Below, you can see the female's antennae have shot up - I presume this was in response to the unwelcome third party!
