A Couple of Birds

All the while we were digging today we were joined by the robin and the blackbird - who are very competitive at taking the worms from where we've just dug!

We also saw a couple of small slim birds flitting about in the hedgerow and occasionally flying out of the hedge to take flying insects from the air. They were very speedy so I didn't manage to get a very good picture. I've attempted to highlight the bird a bit with some photo effects. On checking the RSPB website I'm pretty sure that it's a Garden Warbler (Sylvia borin).
Rather easier to capture and photograph was this male pheasant that was digging about on an overgrown empty plot next door! They're so beautiful, but really not popular on an allotment!!
