Ghost Moth
This lovely furry moth is a female ghost moth - the males are more obviously 'ghosts' because they're light grey in colour and hover at dusk.
The white larvae live underground and feed on roots but are unlikely to cause much damage.

Please leave a comment. I'm very pleased to receive corrections or confirmations of my identification of the creatures we've spotted on the allotment.
