Pollen Beetles
Pollen beetles are in abundance in June/July - actually, there are many different types but Meligethes aeneus is a common type in Spring and early Summer. They do a good job of helping to pollinate plants - as you can see if the photo they love courgette/marrow flowers!
But they also love any bright clothing and we've decided that wearing yellow, pink or orange is really not a good idea at certain times (some may say, at any time!).
They can be a problem if they get out of hand and eat the growing flowers of plants - but we've not had this problem, so far.
