The Bugs and the Bees

Well, just one of each actually. We found this bumblebee on the grass. I think it's a queen buff-tailed bee, but you can't see the abdomen in the photos.
She looked much happier on the grape hyacinth...
Here you can see her supping up the nectar!
Not the first ladybird of the year, but nice to see a 2-spot in the greenhouse. Oddly enough, a '2-spot ladybird' can have up to 16 spots!

    1. Thankyou! Thank goodness for digital cameras - I certainly have to take a lot of shots to get a few good ones, with the focus on the right thing!
